Accountability: Maya has the political will to tell developers that current residents come first. We can’t allow more building until we solve our overcrowding and parking problems.
Leadership: Maya will accept responsibility for ensuring that public property is well-maintained. This means addressing problems such as illegal dumping and vandalism that directly affect residents’ use of public space such as Gillespie Park and the recreation areas along Creek Road.
Community: Maya will address traffic hazards that put pedestrians, drivers and public transit users at risk. Safer, more walkable streets will lead to increased foot traffic, which can reduce crime and benefit local businesses with additional customers.
